Welcome to #MindVine!

We decided to launch our new social media section today to correspond with Bell Let’s Talk Day because #MindVine is similarly all about igniting conversations about mental health and eliminating the stigma associated with it.

We have big plans for this space. #MindVine is the social media home of Ontario Shores, a specialty mental health hospital in Whitby, and will connect visitors with our social media platforms and serve as Ontario Shores’ home to blogs and events.

#MindVine will also include news and information related to mental health care.

Contributors to #MindVine will include Ontario Shores’ professionals and experts in mental health care from various areas of the hospital along with community partners and members of the Communications and Public Affairs team.

Today, we are fortunate to have one of our bloggers help us with the launch of this new endeavour. Stella Ducklow, a mental health advocate with lived experience, was featured in the Ontario Shores’ produced adolescent mental health documentary Three Voices.

Along with blogging on #MindVine, Stella is hosting a Twitter Chat on Tuesday, January 28 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. from Ontario Shores’ official account. Stella will answer questions from followers about her own personal recovery journey. To ask Stella a question simply include the hashtag #MindVine in your Tweet any time between now and 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. You can also post a question for Stella on our Facebook wall and we’ll forward it on to her.

This social media event and the early days of #MindVine are just the beginning. Our objective is to create compelling and relevant content that informs visitors and feeds conversation.

Regardless of who you are or your connection to mental health, we want to hear from you.  #MindVine is our primary hashtag and you can use it to connect with us on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, or Instagram.

Thanks for checking out #MindVine and we hope you come back frequently to catch the latest blog, event, video or news item.
We look forward to great conversation.
