Students and Grads Welcome at Ontario Shores' Nursing Education Day

Nursing students and recent graduates from across the province interested in pursuing a career in mental health nursing will have the opportunity to participate in a fun and informative day at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores)  on Tuesday, April 26.

From 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. students will learn about Ontario Shores and the rewarding possibilities of a career in mental health nursing. The Mental Health Nursing Education Day will provide students an opportunity to learn about the mental health nursing profession, the mental health system and Ontario Shores. Students and graduates will garner an understanding on what it means to be a mental health nurse and the opportunities to positively impact patients and families.

A Career Showcase will be held the same day to show students the diverse nursing career and volunteer opportunities at Ontario Shores.

The day will unfold with presentations and panel discussions involving executives, nurses and patients from the areas of adolescent, geriatric and forensic health. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

The event will be held on site at Ontario Shores, which is located at 700 Gordon Street in Whitby.
