Manager Volunteer Services and Spiritual Care
Liz Onley-Wiseman is the Manager of Volunteer Services and Spiritual Care at Ontario Shores. Liz joined Ontario Shores in 2006 and is responsible for recruiting, coordinating and supervising volunteers to support established patient programs throughout the hospital.
Liz is a member of Durham Region Association of Volunteer Administration and holds the position of Membership Chair. Liz is also a member of the Professional Administrators of Volunteer Resources.
Whether one suffers from a visible or invisible disability, it is through education, understanding and acceptance that we can change our approach and reduce stigma. She is committed to making a positive difference at Ontario Shores and through her work with volunteers, models the belief that learning, growing and discovering are all part of a patient’s journey to recovery.
Through their “gift of time” volunteers can help create caring communities of “stigma free zones” for those that experience Mental Health not suffer from it.
