Director, Professional Practice and Clinical Information
Sanaz Riahi is Director of Professional Practice and Clinical Information at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores). In her role she works collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to support corporate initiatives and/or to address program-specific needs or issues related to clinical practice. Some of her key activities include the development, implementation and evaluation of educational programs to assist staff to acquire and/or maintain the knowledge, skill and clinical judgment to deliver quality, client centered and evidence-informed care. She is currently an advanced trainer in Safe Management crisis intervention training and is the corporate lead for crisis intervention training at Ontario Shores. She has played a key role in the development and support of the Managing Relationships through an Interprofessional Collaborative Recovery Model at Ontario Shores and is the corporate lead for the Restraint Minimization goals and objectives. She is also an active member on the Development Panel for RNAO’s Best Practice Guideline related to alternative approaches to restraint use. Her research interests are in nursing health systems, restraint minimization and violence and aggression in mental health.
